My View of Mount Shasta

I took a photo on the fly of Mount Shasta recently, when I drove down to Yreka, California to take care of the smog check and registration for my car. It’s not an ideal photo, because the car was in motion.

I was curious as to whether I could get a satisfactory drawing of the mountain from my photo.

The mountain rises up of the spreading landscape, all by herself. The lower slopes seem gentle and low because Shasta stands all alone in the wide expanse. She’s a very queenly mountain, shining over the landscape.

I don’t think I quite caught that in this piece of art. But I enjoyed trying for it.

About Sarah

Now residing in Las Vegas, I was born in Michigan and moved to Texas when 16. After getting my Masters degree in English, I moved to Hollywood, because of the high demand for Medievalists (NOT!). As a freelance writer and editor, I found Nevada offers better conditions for the wallet. I love writing all sorts of things, and occasionally also create some artwork.
